The Parkway Half Marathon is a 501 (c)(3) charitable event, of which the entire operation is run by volunteers, including the race director.
As such, we ensure that the collective efforts of our volunteers and the generous donations from our sponsors, both of which are the life blood of charitable endeavors, maximize the event’s proceeds, all of which are donated to benefit the American River Parkway – the nation’s longest, continuous wild and scenic riparian parkway in a major metropolitan area – and the jewel of the Sacramento region.
If you or your organization would like to help before, during, or after the event, there are a variety of activities to choose from including:
Pre-Event Set up Crew
Work with the Race Manager and Staff and get a behind the scenes look on how a race is put together. You’d be amazed at what goes into it!
Race Day Registration
Help with last minute registrations and shirt distribution to make sure every racer is ready to go.
Aid Station Staff
Looking for a community service opportunity for your school, club, group, or team? Here’s your chance! Aid stations are an excellent group activity and a rewarding community service experience. Hand out water and Gatorade and cheer on race participants.
Start/Finish Line Crew
Help a runner or walker complete their race by giving them their medal and maybe even a congratulatory high-five on a job well done!
